About ENO-QUIZ

Version 0.7.0 · Built by Alessandro Zanette, enologist. Available in English and Italian.

What this is

Wine theory practice quizzes for winemakers and students, in English or Italian. The flagship Winemaker track teaches how wine is made — the enology science behind every cellar operation, from SO₂ chemistry and fermentation to malolactic, fining, filtration, faults and lab analysis. A WSET-style Level 2 sampler covers certification-style regions, grapes and labeling terms, and a separate Appellation-rules reference bank holds EU DOC/DOCG limits. More tracks open as their waitlists fill.

How questions are made

Every question names the source that makes it true. Science questions are drawn from recognized reference texts of the discipline (e.g. Ribéreau-Gayon et al., Handbook of Enology; Waterhouse et al., Understanding Wine Chemistry; the OIV Compendium of methods) — the fact is explained in our own words and the exact author, work and section are cited so you can check it in the original. Appellation questions derive from official regulatory documents (disciplinari, cahiers des charges, EU/eAmbrosia records), where the exact regulatory wording is quoted. Never from blogs, wikis or aggregator sites. The source is shown under every answer.

Accuracy and disclaimer

ENO-QUIZ is an educational study tool. While every question is sourced and reviewed, it is provided without warranty of accuracy or completeness and is not a substitute for the official regulations, the reference texts themselves, or professional or legal advice. Always verify against the primary source before relying on a figure for commercial or compliance purposes. This is a preview build; the question bank is undergoing final expert review.

Instant and offline

The app is a static question bank: no accounts, no server calls, no AI generating answers on the fly. After the first load it works fully offline. See the privacy policy — the short version is that no data leaves your device.
